GPS Navigator - If I buy one in Australia with Aus maps can I use it in NZ as well?

You can use a GPS unit anywhere in the world if all you need is latitude and longitude.

If it doesn’t have NZ maps, you’ll just see a blank outline of the country (or just a blank) with a dot where you are. If you’re in a car, you can also tell how fast you’re going and in what direction. But without a NZ map, that’s all you can do. You have to check to see if NZ maps are included in the unit.

Magellan Gps Phone Number

magellan gps phone number

What’s the Best Gps navigation Technique to Acquire?

Well, that’s a fairly large dilemma with a great deal of achievable answers. In this write-up I’ll talk about the Gps navigation marketplace, different features, and also give you some pointers about what suppliers are the best to acquire. All of this is my opinion, so do your analysis and then buy your Gps device.

Really to answer the query of what’s the best Global positioning system program to purchase, I would have to know you, your spending budget, and your requirements. For example, are you heading to be utilizing the Gps navigation in the course of your company. Just before I became a writer, I sold real estate. This was way back in the day. I had a effectively employed atlas of town streets, and prior to I left to display properties, I would have to program my route. For a person like that a Global positioning system that has the capability of inputing much more then 1 route, would have been a life saver. That’s known as “multi-point” routing, in Gps device speak.

Right now, there are a number of GPS’s to pick from with multi-point routing. Garmin has a ton of them. Anything from the nuvi 465 to the nuvi 885 has multi-stage routing. Also, the 1490’s and 1690’s have that, too. This is a functionality that’s not prohibitively costly, too. For example, the Garmin nuvi 755 costs much less than $200, yet has multi-place routing. If you don’t want a Garmin, then Magellan has a number of models with this. Magellan calls this “multi-destination routing”, by the way. Numerous of their RoadMate line has this, along with a couple of of their Maestros. Finally, TomTom has a number of types with this. The Tom Tom 1 has this at a really competitive selling price.

So, what if you’re just using your Global positioning system for trips, or not for enterprise. I can’t feel of numerous men and women who require multi-position routing in their individual lives. Nicely, if your definition of what’s the greatest Gps navigation system to purchase doesn’t consist of multi-place routing, you can conserve your self some dollars.

Other characteristics you may well want to believe about are Bluetooth, for hands-free of charge calling and genuine time targeted traffic and temperature. If you your definition of what’s the greatest Gps method to obtain contains Bluetooth, you may possibly want to make sure the Gps navigation truly operates with your specific mobile phone. Occasionally, you’ll get a device which is supposed to have Bluetooth (and does), but it’s not compatible with your mobile phone. Can you tell this prior to you buy? If you have a relatively new cell phone, then you ought to be okay. Just be aware. You can get versions from all the top suppliers with this.

Personally, my notion of what’s the greatest Gps method to acquire consists of genuine time targeted traffic and climate. I like realizing about the temperature, and I commute a whole lot proper now, so understanding about traffic snarls aids a lot. Of interest here is some of Garmin’s newer nuvi types. Garmin has this new service referred to as nuLink. Fairly cool stuff! Surely element of my thought of what’s the greatest Global positioning system method to buy.

looking for car gps system that can hold contact information, like an address book.?

I recently bought a magellan maestro 3250. It works great and looks great. One problem…..This ‘Maestro’ doesn’t hold contact information. unlike other gps systems, you can’t have an address book where you can type in the phone number and the persons address. Basically, I am looking for a car gps system that has exactly everything that the maestro 325 has, plus the “address book” option. thanks alot!! please let me know whats out there

Well, HP/Compaq Ipaq units have GPS and PDAs built together. or you can add GPS to any of the PDA’s.

GPS Reviews: TomTom Go 740 Live GPS Navigator

Although I have always been a fan of Garmin GPS devices, with all its competitors (Such as Navigon, Magellan and TomTom) catching up in terms of design and features, one can’t help but to wonder if Garmin is slowly loosing its edge. In this article, we are going to take a closer look at the TomTom Go 740 Live GPS navigator. At the time of writing, I think that it is just one of the most advanced GPD device in the market.

The TomTom Go 740 Live has a built-in wireless data connection. This connection allows the access of a variety of information on the device. For instance, you can perform a local search (powered by Google). You can search for restaurants, points of interest, and other local destinations. The search results come with a whole array of information on the destination, such as telephone number and modes of payments accepted (for restaurants) and many more. It can also search for the latest fuel prices in a particular locality.

Another cool feature found on the TomTom Go 740 Live is the TomTom Buddies feature that allows you to share your location with other TomTom Go users. Using this feature, you can also send messages to one another on the device. The price of purchase comes with 3 months of live services. After that, you will need to pay a $10 monthly fee for the services.

The TomTom Go 740 Live also uses IQ Route technology to calculate the best route to your destination. This feature goes through the historical data of the routes taken by you and other TomTom users and maps out the best route to take. For example, if the device calculated that a particular route is congested during lunchtime on weekends, it will provide a route that by-pass the area if you happen to travel during that time frame. You can also correct mistakes on the map and share it with other users. Other features on the TomTom Go 740 Live include voice command, text-to-speech, and Bluetooth features. All in all, the use of a live wireless data connection brings this navigational device to a whole new level.

Rate Portable Gps Systems

Make your World Safer with The Portable GPS Systems

You may have acquired, or hired, an automobile with a GPS system to help navigate your way in strange locations ; if not, you have almost certainly seen commercials advertising vehicular onboard systems which can help identify your position in the event of an emergency. You may actually have GPS technology in a PDA or on your cell telephone ; Garmin GPS Systems systems are gradually becoming unexceptional. But you may not know precisely how GPS systems work.

The GPS Systems for Cars, or worldwide Positioning Systems technology, was first developed in the 1970s for the US dept of Defense, as a method to correctly track the locations of its targets regardless of where they were on the globe. Today the Portable GPS Systems systems consist of a bunch of 20 four satellites which communicate with GPS-enabled devices on Earth.

Each Portable GPS Systems device can send a signal to the network of twenty four GPS satellites in orbit around the Earth.

How does the Portable GPS Systems Work
The device is capable of accepting transmissions from up to four of the satellites at the same time. With info from three of the satellites, the receiver will report its latitude and longitude ; with info from four, it can identify its altitude also. And if it?s in motion, it can use the data from the satellites to work out its rate of speed.
The Garmin GPS System systems have proved invaluable to scientists ; first responders ; seamen ; and, naturally, the army.

Some Cheap GPS Systems systems devices have mapping software which allows their users to have a visible reading of their location at all times ; this is good for those who are driving or hiking in unfamiliar areas.
Some vehicular GPS systems devices are supplied with Bluetooth technology, in order that they can offer voice info and spare the drivers from taking their eyes from the road. GPS systems have simply made the world safer for millions of people!

Car Rental Delhi

wwww.cheapnbesttravel.com - India’s Leading Car rental Company

Car Rental Tips
Need wheels on your next trip? Renting a car can give you freedom and flexibility when you’re traveling, and in some parts of the world it’s the only feasible way to get around. But a rental car can sometimes add complications to your trip — like trying to find the best deal or sorting out exactly which insurance options you need. Read on for our practical tips on saving money, understanding your rental agreement and avoiding problems with your car rental.

Choosing a Vehicle
Think carefully about what kind of vehicle you’ll need. If you’re traveling with children or with a lot of gear, you may want a large sedan or SUV. If you’re simply looking to save money on rental rates and gas, you’ll want to reserve the smallest available model.

But size isn’t the only factor. Looking for something environmentally friendly? Check out our Green Travel Resources for eco-friendly car rentals. Can’t drive a stick shift? Be sure to reserve a car with automatic transmission. (In many countries, a manual transmission is the norm — so read the fine print before booking. Learn more with our International Car Rental Tips.) Also, be sure that the company from which you’re renting offers any extras you might need or want, such as a ski rack, car seat or GPS system.

Booking Your Car
How long will you be renting? If it’s for less than a week, you’ll probably do best with a major rental company, such as Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National or Thrifty. For rentals of a week or longer, you may get better rates from local companies, particularly auto dealers. Remember, however, to be wary of local companies if you plan to drive a lot; if you break down or get into an accident, they usually lack the support services of the majors.

Always shop around. Check the major booking engines and aggregator sites (such as Travelocity and Kayak) to get an idea of what rates are available, but you should also visit the car rental companies’ Web sites as well — they’ll often offer exclusive discounts, and you’ll avoid booking fees. Don’t forget to check out our selection of discount car rental deals before making any reservations.

To lower your rate, ask about discounts for any major national organizations, frequent flier programs and credit card programs to which you may belong. They’ll frequently offer deals on car rentals. Those offered through AAA can be very good. If you’re employed by a company that frequently rents cars, they may have a negotiated rate. Make sure to check.

Before you book online, do an Internet search for coupon or promotion codes to put into the booking engine of your car rental company’s site. Just type the name of the company followed by “coupon code” into the search field and you’ll often find special promotion codes that could save you anywhere from 5 to 20 percent off the cost of your rental. For more ideas on saving money when you rent a car, see Cruising for Car Rental Deals.

If you haven’t already, consider joining your car rental company’s loyalty program when you book. These vary by company, but most of them are free and entitle you to certain privileges when picking up your vehicle; your information will be on file ahead of time, allowing you to simply jump into the car and go rather than standing in a long line or filling out paperwork. You could also be eligible for special discounts or free upgrades. For more information, see Car Rental Loyalty Programs: The Whys and Wherefores.

The newest way to save on rental cars is to hook up with a car share service. If you live near a major city or you’re a frequent renter, you may save money by joining a car share. Get more information about car shares in Zipcar and Beyond: Is a Car Share Right for You?

Understanding Your Rental
If you’re booking online, read the terms and conditions carefully before confirming your reservation. If you’re booking over the phone, ask the agent about restrictions. Be sure you understand the conditions of your reservation. Is there a penalty for no-shows? How long will the car be held if you’re stuck in traffic on the way to the pickup station? Is there a fee for additional drivers and must their names be listed in the contract? Is your 20-year-old daughter old enough to drive the car? (For liability reasons, this is important.)

If pertinent, ask about any restrictions on interstate travel. For your own protection in case of breakdown, be sure the company has offices in all the states on your itinerary.

For one-way car rentals, ask about drop-off charges. They can be exorbitant.

Always get a confirmation number. For airport rentals, be sure to give the customer service representative your flight number and scheduled arrival time. This will usually protect your reservation if the flight is delayed.

The True Cost of Car Rentals
Buyer beware: The rate you see advertised in big print may become so inflated with state and local taxes, airport surcharges, additional driver fees, insurance, gasoline bills and drop-off charges that you end up paying more than double what you expected. Learn more about these extra charges in Car Rental Hidden Costs.

Also, the advertised rate may be valid only during the off-season in Florida or California, when many cars are idle there, but not where you want to rent. Finally, the rate may be only for a car size that you would find unsuitable.

In recent years, the major booking engines have become more transparent about rental car rates, and they now usually show you the total cost of your rental, including estimated taxes and fees, early on in the booking process. For instance, Travelocity offers total pricing, which guarantees that the company’s estimated amount will be within one percent of the actual rate.

Like the airlines, the major auto rental companies have adopted “yield management.” That means that their computers can quickly readjust prices according to changes in the supply of cars available, and so the rental rate you are quoted is valid only at that moment. Unless you reserve immediately, the rate is likely to change.

At Pickup Time
If your first drive will be from an airport to a hotel for the night, why not take a shuttle van to the hotel instead? Doing this may save you the price of a day’s rental. Even if you must drive the same day your flight lands, you may not have to get the car at the airport. By picking it up downtown, you can often avoid hefty airport surcharges.

If you have personal auto insurance or charge the rental to a major credit card, you will probably be covered at least for collision damage — so you shouldn’t have to purchase the car rental company’s collision or loss damage waiver (CDW or LDW) insurance. If in doubt, ask your insurance agent or credit card issuer.

Before you drive away from the pickup station, inspect the car carefully for body damage. Be sure the lights and turn signals are working properly, and check the mileage odometer. Report any defects at once.

Familiarize yourself with the workings of the car before you leave the lot. Check which side your gas tank is on, and learn how to use the headlights, windshield wipers and turn signal. It may seem obvious, but you’ll also want to memorize the make, model and color of your car — that way you won’t lose it the first time you park in a busy lot! For more tips, see Getting to Know Your Rental Car.

Returning Your Car
Be wary of prepaid gasoline plans. Always fill the tank yourself before returning the vehicle so that you’re only paying for the amount of gas you actually used. Try to avoid the gas stations right near the airport where you’re dropping off your car — the prices tend to be highest there. Instead, fill up a few miles away.

It may seem counterintuitive, but returning your car early may actually cost you money. You’ll often pay an early return fee (usually about $15 a day), but even worse, your rate structure will most likely change and you’ll be responsible for the difference. Of course, returning the car late could cost you too — many car rental companies only give you a 30-minute grace period before beginning to rack up the late fees.

Before leaving the vehicle, check to be sure you haven’t left any personal belongings. Don’t forget to check the trunk! The most common lost articles include cell phones, sunglasses and umbrellas.

Be sure that the check-in attendant inspects the car’s body in your presence and that you agree about any damage. Examine your rental agreement carefully for all charges and make sure they credit any deposit to your account while you wait.

Minn Kota Trolling Motors

Whether it is the primary or secondary form of propulsion on an angler’s boat, a trolling motor is a self-contained unit that can be lifted up out of the water when not in use. There are times when it is connected to the bow - and sometimes to the stern. It has various uses . When used as a secondary form of propulsion, it’s used for trolling for game fish and usually mounted on the transom next to the primary motor. It allows for more precise positioning of the boat so that the person fishing can cast the bait where the fish are located

Trolling motors are generally designed with a DC electric motor that uses 12-volt deep cycle batteries for power. The motors are sealed into a watertight box at the end of a shaft and are submerged when operating . Tiller steering is most common, with speed control normally located on the top of the unit. Trolling motors controlled by hand attach to the boat with clamps.

For smaller watercraft like canoes and kayaks, trolling motors may be used as a primary source of automatic propulsion. Minn Kota, a company based in Racine, Wisconsin, is one brand of trolling motors. The company makes both fresh water and salt water motors in over a dozen different models, all of which have engine shafts made of composite materials designed for long wear. Minn Kota trolling motors for salt water are made with materials that resist salt water corrosion.

Minn Kota also makes the i-Pilot, which is a GPS-based control system for some of its trolling motors. It utilizes GPS technology for navigation and locating that does not require hands-on operation. Available on certain Terrova and Riptide models, it has cruise control and a feature that allows fishermen to record a fishing track of up to two miles and store it in memory so that it can be precisely retraced on a later fishing trip.

The Riptide series of trolling motors are saltwater trolling motors made for the harsh conditions of saltwater immersion. Any metal-on-metal interfaces feature composite bushings for isolation, which reduces wear and makes the motor very quiet. The tiller steering system is customizable in terms of tilt angle and length. And they offer the Lift-Assist gas-charged spring which is built-in with the bow mount, which makes it easier to lift the motor in and out of the water.

The Traxxis is a transom-mounted freshwater trolling motor from Minn Kota, with features designed to assist in deploying, stowing, steering, and depth adjustment. Transom motors have somewhat of a reputation for being difficult to operate, but the Traxxis is designed for one-hand stowing with no push buttons or release levers. Like the Riptide versions , the tiller steering is adjustable in terms of handle angle and length. It also has a cam lock depth adjustment which is unlike the more typical tension knob depth control. It features the Traxxis’ depth to be precisely fixed , without slipping.

A high quality trolling motor like those produced by Minn Kota can make the difference between a successful day on the water and a disappointing one. By allowing fishermen to accurately and quietly maneuver to where the fish are, the motors make angling a more precise and enjoyable pastime.

Timex Gps Watch Review

timex gps watch review

Easy Way to Find Great Kid’s Watches Onling

Kid’s watches are pretty easy to find; they are in most department or discount stores in the jewelry section or kids sections. Timex makes a wide variety of kid’s watches and are available at amazon.com.  Kid’s watches are available in both analog and digital versions and are boxed in a nice unique gift box usually.  Different varieties of kid’s watches are available for different industrial purpose. Kid’s watches are not only cute to wear but can encourage kids to start telling time.  Many Timex kid’s watches have GPS and are also waterproof.  The bands on most kid’s watches are made of stretchy material with fun colors, designs and patterns.

Timex has been making wrist watches for a long time and they’ve built a solid reputation in this area. In case a child loses the watch, Timex replaces it with a watch of the same or similar style at the price of 10 dollars during one-year period from the original date of purchase.  But if you’re looking for specific child’s watches or brands, like Mickey Mouse Disney watches, or Timex kids watches you may want to try shopping online at amazon.com.

Buy Kid’s Watches online at bargain prices.  Buy top brands at bargain prices at the best stores online.  Lowest prices, find the best deals only, read reviews before buying, online shopping has never been easier.
Wrist watches have always been used as valuable gifts on many occasions.  Wrist watches for kids are a good way to go because they strap on to their wrist making them harder to loose.

It’s not too surprising that Disney kids watches are so well-liked, after all Disney and childhood seem to go hand in hand.  Analog kids watches are the traditional type with the clock face, hour and minute hands.  Another reason kids watches are fun is because they provide a great way to interact with your children and teach them about time.  The bands on most kids watches are made of stretchy material with fun colors, designs and patterns.

Runners- I’m looking for a watch?

I’m looking to buy a good running watch. I had a nike heart rate monitor one and it broke. I need one that calculates speed with at least 8-lap memory, heart rate, and distance with gps rather than foot pod. Preferably water resistant and not too bulky. Also less than $300, *if possible*. Any suggestions or reviews? Thanks
p.s. Any thoughts on the Timex Ironman Bodylink?

The Garmin Forerunner 305 is what you’re looking for. I just bought one from amazon for about 150 USD, and it works great. It’s probably the most accurate of the GPS running watches currently available, and it’s only the two pieces, the watch and the chest strap.

The Timex bodylink GPS function has a reputation for being a little flakey at times. In order to get the same functionality of the Forerunner you need the watch, chest strap, gps module and data logger (which you normally have to purchase separately)

A Review Of The Htc G1 White

The HTC G1 in White. The new Google Android Operating System and software device from HTC. If you’re looking for a stylish and slim phone, the G1 may not be the phone for you.

Weighing in at 158g (including the Li-ion battery)and measuring 117 x 56 x 17.7mm it is a medium sized Smartphone. The plastic back looks very plain, however, it doesn’t look or feel cheap, with it’s rubber-like finish, it is comfortable to hold and easy to grip. The front is polished plastic and looks much nicer in white as opposed to black. The large 3.2 inch display is protected by a plastic sleeve which keeps it clean and free from fingerprints. It has a full QWERTY slide out style keyboard and colour TFT touchscreen. The handset has a similar feel and look to the HTC Touch Pro . The bottom section of the phone sticks out slightly giving it an interesting look, though this makes typing awkward when using the slide out keyboard which effects accuracy and speed of typing.

Other features include built in GPS receiver with google maps and a built in compass allowing you to navigate 360 degrees by moving the handset around. A 3.2 mega pixel camera with auto focus and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The screen orientation will only switch to landscape mode when the keyboard is opened and not when you rotate the phone which is a little disappointing. The G1 offers Haptic feedback which gives you a slight vibration when performing a long press on an icon, but not with every touch. Unlike the iPhone, the G1’s touch screen isn’t multi-touch, so you can not zoom in and out on a page by pinching your fingers together and apart. A notification bar appears at the top of the screen, detailing missed calls and messages etc. The HTC G1 White provides Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G support where available and supports Gmail. The Android Operating System and software allows you to buy and download applications from the Android market. However, The G1 does not offer microsoft exchange support and does not allow you to edit microsoft documents. The 3.2 inch touch screen is capacitive, as with the iPhone, making it sensitive and very responsive. The handset has 256 MB ROM and 192 MB RAM memory which gives talktime of up to 5 hours 20 minutes and standby time of up to 406 hours. A MicroSD slot is also situated on the side of the handset allowing for memory expansion. Thanks to the Android OS you can swiftly navigate through lists with a quick flick, or you can drag your finger slowly for a more precise look. In addition, you can move and pan web pages and other documents by holding and moving your finger around the screen.

In conclusion, if you are looking for a sturdy phone packed with features and great web browsing then this could be the phone for you.
