I have an iphone 3gs and a nokia flip phone. Iphone service is sooo dang expensive, and all I want is the basic cell phone service. I put the sim card of my old nokia into the iphone, and get no bars unless at my house. I heard there is some sort of activate needed though to get another type of cell phone service on my iphone. It’s at&t but as I said I only want to transfer my nokia flip phone service with at&t to my iphone. I dont need the fancy stuff like GPS, and internet, etc. Just basic phone and text.
One thing that is getting confused possibly is I want the same carrier, but I want the same service that my Nokia had with AT&T, but I want it put on my Iphone.
The data plan is REQUIRED to use an iPhone on the AT&T network. Moreover, if you purchased the phone at the discounted price from AT&T or Apple, you signed a contract agreeing to the data plan for the full 2 year term of the contract. Terminating the data plan will terminate your service and will trigger the early termination fee.
Bottom line - use the iPhone and pay for the data plan or use the Nokia and pay the early termination fee.

A Comparison of Top GPS Receivers
If you’re like me, a comparison of top GPS recievers would really help you choose the right device to buy. Consider Garmin and Magellan. Both of these companies are industry leaders, although Garmin has by far the most market share. Both make great products. So, how do you choose between the two? Read on to find out.
Before I launch into a discussion of these two companies’ products, let’s talk about what the basic features of any GPS receiver are, and also what are the main upgraded features.
All GPS receivers have a touch screen interface. They also all auto-calculate the best route to get you to where you want to go. In addition, they all have voice prompts that tell you where to turn, as well as a large database of Point of Interest (POIs).
With either Garmin or Magellan, you can get all of this for around $150!
If you want to spend more, then you can get the following features: wider screen, more POIs, actually saying the street names, Bluetooth integration, ability to hear your GPS device through your car’s audio system, and real-time traffic and weather.
You can get all of this with either Garmin or Magellan. Let’s talk about Garmin first.
Garmin is the industry leader. They’re really a powerhouse in GPS technology with about 70% of the current market share. Garmin also has a much broader product range than anyone else. As far as automotive after-market GPS receivers are concerned, their nuvi and StreetPilot lines offer an excellent selection along with a very large price range.
The Garmin 660 can give you all of the upgraded features I mentioned above for less than $350! Of course, you can get more by spending more.
Garmin’s 800 line, can do everything the 660 can but it also includes maps of Europe and can calculate multiple routes. That is, you can enter more than one destination into the device and it will calculate how to go from point A to point B to point C, etc. in the most efficient manner.
Magellan’s Maestro Elite line compares with the nuvi 600’s and above. Magellan’s prices might be slightly less for comparable features. But not enough for that to be the deciding factor.
Both Garmin and Magellan make an excellent product! You won’t go wrong with either company!

Works well!
This handle bar mount works well with my Forerunner 305 (mounted to an early vintage Stump Jumper without any suspension). I have a bunch of other stuff on my bars (Garmin Etrex Vista HCx, and a Cannondale speedometer), so I appreciated the simple and space saving design. I think I saw another review that suggested that it would be nice to have the ability to “flip the screen” upside down on the forerunner series so that the antenna was pointing up while on the bar mount, and I concur. However, that being said, I have not been able to measure any appreciable error while mounted right next to the Etrex Vista (which has the antenna pointed in an optimal orientation). It is really nice to have the Forerunner mounted to the handle bars rather than my wrist while mountain biking! It leaves my hands and wrists free to wipe sweat, and deflect branches. It is possible to work the buttons (imposable when on your wrist while riding), and I’m counting on the fact that the Forerunner will be less likely to be damaged in a crash when mounted to the bike rather than my body (as yet untested). I would recommend this product to a friend.

Very Functional
The bike mount works very well. It is simple to switch my Forerunner 305 between my 3 bikes. It holds the GPS secure and viewable without moving around. No Complaints.
