Garmin GPS USB Connectivity- Please Help?
Hi i have a Garmin nuvi 255w that i just bought yesterday. I want to update the maps but When i connect the GPS to my computer via USB cable,- drivers are installed properly- it works but just after 1 minute, GPS automaticaaly shuts down. It keeps happening Please Help.Battery is charged
this is an easy fix and there is nothing wrong with your gps from what i can tell. you just need to adjust the auto off settings. here is how i do it on my gps,

power management
in power management is where you will adjust the gps to stop turning off. im using a newelectronx gps, so the steps maybe a little different for you. but im sure these steps will help you figure out what you need to do - along with your manual for your gps.
