Which iPhone should I buy for use as a PDA?
I’m an AT&T customer, own a Palm Centro and an iMac desktop computer. I like the Palm, but the controls are small and not all my data syncs up through the pitiful Palm Desktop software. I am considering the iPhone because of the larger on-screen buttons, better sync features and the ability to play music, but I’ll use it mostly to–duh–make telephone calls, keep appointment and keep track of customer contact information. I don’t plan to spend all day on FaceBook or Twitter, probably won’t download any movies from iTunes or use the GPS.
Sooooo, what should I buy? 8GB, 16GB or 32GB? Refurbished? Any special apps I should consider when using the iPhone as a PDA? Thanks.
Just so you know, they force you now to buy a data plan with a smartphone (Win Mobile, iPhone, or Blackberry).
Personally, I’d buy an unlocked phone from a third party and transfer the sim card. I wouldn’t get an iphone myself … who wants to enter data on a touchscreen?
I use a Windows Mobile phone, the PDA aspect is equally as important to me as being a good phone. I’d look at an unlocked Samsung Jack if you don’t need a touchscreen, great PDA, great phone.
